On the nose, this single vineyard wine shows fragrant ripe apricots, white blossoms, hints of honeydew melon and orange peel. The palate is flavoursome and mouth filling with a refreshing zingy finish.

Deep ruby red in colour with aromas of black cherries, subtle coffee crème, redcurrants and dark plums. The palate is intense and immediately mouth-filling with sweet plums and toasty notes. Elegant and powerful, the wine displays fine tannins but with great acidity that gives the wine freshness. Charming and extremely enjoyable now and will age in the bottle well for years to come.

Blending the Maude Pinot Noir is one of their favourite and most important tasks. Each year, the magical blend from the Poison Creek and Mohawk Hill vineyards changes. Maintaining the pedigree of the Maude Pinot Noir is absolutely critical; but achieving this requires flexibility with both the blend as well as the technique as both vary with each vintage. Central Otago's cool climate consistently produces exceptional red fruit flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, but with concentration and length to match. Fruit notes of white fleshed stone fruits and ripe citrus zest lead to the rich, creamy mid-palate, with oak derived notes of grilled nuts and baking spice.
