Founded in 1785, Heidsieck & Co Monopole is the 4th oldest champagne house. Heidsieck & Co. Monopole was one of the leading Champagne brands and the beginning of the 20th century, and was a supplier by Royal Appointment of several European courts: King of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, the English Court, Swedish Court & the Court of Tsar Nicolas II. This is a deliciously crisp wine with white fruits and a creamy mousse. It is soft from the relatively high dosage, giving a lightly tangy character and finishing with ripe acidity.

Land that was once a high country sheep station is now a flourishing vineyard. Sheep and rabbits co-existed on the land for quite some time but the sheep couldn't keep up with the nocturnal activity of the rabbits, and in the end were driven off the land. Rabbits now run free on the vineyard and fuelled by high altitude Pinot Noir, some are reputed to be the size of ponies, but that's another story... The Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir is made in a very soft, fruit forward, low tannin style - a wine to be savoured and supped, rather than an assault on the senses.

This blend was carefully put together for this limited edition from specially selected Ports from Taylor's extensive aged Tawny stocks, aged in seasoned oak Port pipes. At the beginning of the 18th century, bottles were hand blown and bulbous in shape. As the 18th century progressed, bottles became taller and more cylindrical. The first stage in this evolution was the appearance of the 'mallet' shaped bottle which had become well established in England by around 1730. Their sides were often tapered towards the shoulder rather than completely parallel. However, by around 1750, the 'mallet' bottle had developed a more cylindrical form. This Limited Edition bottle is inspired by the 'mallet-cylinder' bottle from that period, the immediate predecessor of today's cylindrical wine bottle.
