Deep brick red in colour, this wine exudes aromas of cherry, red currant, cigar box and chocolate, with hints of toasty oak. The palate exhibits similar flavours with the addition of fine tannins and liquorice, with a warm spicy finish.

This wine is an elegant, off-dry style, with wonderful floral and citrus aromatics, matched with lemon, lime and stone fruit flavours. Lovely texture, distinct minerality and a lively acidity make for a harmonious palate.

The Charles Wiffen Sauvignon Blanc is produced from the Wiffen's 'Flipper' Block. The block is two caned pruned in the Vertical Shoot Positioning trellising. The block is carefully managed to achieve crop loads of 11 tonnes per hectare, achieving fruit with great concentration and texture. This wine exhibits fresh and lifted aromas of gooseberries, ripe tropical fruits, lime and capsicums, revealing passionfruit and mineral nuanaces in the glass. The palate is crisp and refreshing.

The harvest from these parcels is always carried out later because of the dominant varieties, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon. Careful vinification gives this wine depth, elegance and length in the mouth. The floral bouquet of the Cabernet variety is predominant in the wines youth but develops later towards the more complex aromas of a Grand Vin de Bordeaux. Beautiful deep colour with purple tints. Château Tour Caillet, the former hunting lodge of the Marquis de Guinot, faces Saint-Emilion on the left bank of the Dordogne.
